As we head towards the end of 2022, we asked all members of the TBI team how their year has shaped up.
Finally, a year where we all got back to normality!
Lynne: This year has definitely felt like ‘normal service has been resumed’ since the pandemic. The TBI team have been out and about at conferences, meeting clients in-person, and taking part in strategy workshops. I’ve really enjoyed the ‘novelty’ of seeing friends and colleagues again, even if it has meant agonising decisions on what to wear! Stealing myself away from comfy leggings has been particularly tricky.
Kelly: For me, this year has been all about people! Enjoying the delightful hustle and bustle sound of conference networking once again, meeting clients face-to-face – both new connections and clients that I’ve been working with throughout COVID and had yet to meet, and appreciating the time reconnecting with my wonderful TBI colleagues in person. Chats and coffees aplenty – but most importantly the chance to spend time with colleagues and friends. In-person meetings brings a type of energy that is hard to replicate over a screen. I can’t wait to see who I’ll meet in 2023!
It’s been a year of many firsts, with Mithu and Amber joining the team. Special mention also goes to the arrival of TBI baby Olivia, congratulations Rowan!
Amber: 2022 has been a wild year for me, and a year of many professional firsts! After graduating from my photography degree last July, joining TBI has been my first proper step into the world of marketing, and I have enjoyed every minute of the journey. The variety of work that I get to undertake at TBI is something I am very thankful for, getting to work across so many different clients and projects has given me the opportunity to learn and develop a whole new range of skills and knowledge that I am very excited to continue to build upon in the new year and into the future!
Mithu: It’s been a spectacular first year for me at TBI! When I left Springer Nature earlier this year, I was really hoping for the chance to build a broader view on the challenges and opportunities publishers and scholarly communications businesses were facing. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed getting to meet and work with a wide variety of clients, working on everything from thought leadership, to copywriting, to brand research, to journals marketing strategy.
Of course it’s been another year of enormous variety, working with publishers, societies and services from across scholarly communications.
Tracy: 2022 sees my first full year at TBI and I have really enjoyed working closely with our fantastic team of marketing professionals. I have learnt so much from them over the last 12 months as we support our clients across the whole spectrum of marketing activity – strategy development, research, campaign planning and implementation.
Amelia: 2022 has been the year of many marketing plans (close to 15 to be more specific)! Over the last 12 months, I have worked with numerous publishers and societies from across the scholarly communications landscape, supporting them in achieving their strategic goals to increase readership across publications, drive membership and subscriptions, and more.
