We’re recruiting for a Marketing Executive
TBI has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Marketing Executive to join our dynamic and successful team.
This varied role is key to the team and would suit an individual with previous marketing experience looking for that next step in their career. Key responsibilities include campaign implementation through appropriate channels, for example paid search (i.e., Google Ads), organic and paid social media, and email; and supporting on market research projects, including data and performance analysis.
The position is full-time, permanent, home based in the UK, and requires flexibility to attend every 2 months in-person team meetings in Oxfordshire.

Lynne Miller
Managing Director
Lynne is a hugely experienced senior marketing executive with over 25 years of experience in publishing. She has also worked for the education division of IBM, and as a consultant for the Learning Schools Programme developed by RM plc.
Since joining TBI in 2015 she has overseen the expansion of TBI’s strategic marketing and business development services and led our consulting projects worldwide.
Lynne established herself as a leader in society publishing, and strategic marketing at Wiley, and successfully built high level internal and external partnerships with academics, and commercial bodies both locally and internationally. She is a regular speaker at science and industry events, on a range of topics – from publishing strategy to digital marketing, to membership engagement.
Kelly Henwood
Senior Consultant
Kelly has worked in marketing and publishing for nearly 20 years and specialises in strategy, communications, brand engagement, and evidence-based decision making: across digital, TV, film, and radio.
Kelly joined TBI Communications from Oxford University Press, where she led the Humanities, Social Science and Law Journals Product Marketing team to drive growth through diverse marketing strategies. She also managed society partner relationships and the marketing programme for several leading society journals. Previously, Kelly managed international marketing programmes for both the commercial arm of the University of Oxford and a TV production company.
Kelly is an ALPSP tutor for ‘Effective Social Media for Scholarly Publishers’ and is CIM qualified.
Emma Watkins
Senior Manager Strategy and Communications
Emma has worked in marketing for nearly 20 years, with 15 of those within the scholarly publishing ecosystem. She spent a decade at IOP Publishing, and during her time created the society partners marketing function, working with global societies such as the American Astronomical Society, The DPG, and the Japan Society of Applied Physics. During that time she launched journals, delivered brand consultancy to Editorial Boards and society leaders, worked on crisis communications, created a reviewer engagement strategy, and launched The AAS’ journals overhauled submissions system. From IOPP, she moved to 67 Bricks, a technology consultancy working at the forefront of data and content in publishing, where she delved into the emerging role of AI in publishing and marketing. She specialises in commercial consultancy, and has Mini MBA’s on both Marketing and Brand Management.
She also volunteers as a non-executive director for ALPSP, chairing their membership and marketing committee.
Rowan Banham
Senior Marketing Manager
Rowan joined TBI Communications in 2018 after graduating from Oxford Brookes University with a 1st class honours degree in Business and Marketing Management. She has developed extensive market research experience, working with clients on projects to understand researcher attitudes towards industrywide initiatives; to explore member needs and preferences; and to provide insight into how publications are used by various stakeholder groups. Rowan also manages digital marketing including reporting with Google Analytics, and events promotion for publishers and societies.
Freya Carberry
Marketing Manager
Freya is an experienced digital marketer specialising in paid media campaigns across social platforms and Google Ads for both B2B and B2C clients. She brings a results-driven approach to her work, managing all aspects of campaign execution from setup to performance tracking to ensure objectives are met.
With a degree in English Literature and Creative Writing, and experience working both in-house and at a marketing agency, Freya brings together her strong copywriting background and deep understanding of paid media. This expertise enables her to create campaigns that are both engaging and performance-focused, helping clients achieve their marketing goals.
