ORCID
ORCID is a not-for-profit company that provides free, persistent, unique identifiers for researchers. ORCID iDs are embedded in many society and publisher systems, enabling researchers to easily link their various outputs to a single profile.
TBI and ORCID have collaborated on two major surveys of ORCID iD holders and the wider research and publishing community. Findings from the first survey were used to establish a programme of outreach and advocacy, and the second survey enabled a longitudinal view of how perceptions of ORCID have developed – including the success of communications campaigns designed to emphasise aspects of the service.
