BLOG
In the next instalment of our end of year round up we asked the team what they have delivered in 2022. The word that stood out in all their answers was “variety” – working for an agency never gets boring that’s for sure! Tracy also noted the community and collaboration is a theme that runs through much of the work she does.
Kelly Henwood: Looking back across the year, variety is the word that screams out to me. Everything from messaging and positioning, product launch copywriting, market research, through to strategy and campaign plans. It’s been busy but brilliant!
Lynne Miller: Over the past year I’ve been involved in projects ranging from financial modelling for transitioning to new pricing and product offerings, to developing a long-form content piece and blog posts, developing new messaging and a strategic framework for brand communications, and market research to inform publication strategy.
Mithu Lucraft: My first six months involved: a storytelling workshop for a platform; OA attitudes research and white paper for a society publisher; value messaging framework for a large publisher marketing team; research integrity copy and messaging framework for a research publisher; interviews with researchers on readership; brand research for an OA publisher; website copy refresh for a service provider; blogs and interviews for a platform; video scripts and journal launch templates for a non-profit publisher; product launch naming for a service provider; journal strategy review for another society publisher; PLUS conferences and client meetings: SO much variety!
Amber Phipps: From undertaking my first ever professional campaign plans, to delving into the brain workout that is data analysis, and then getting to attend a Qualtrics event in London, there has been so much to learn and do within my role of marketing executive, also getting the opportunity to keep being creative, having just designed a banner for a client to use at an upcoming event. One thing that I didn’t expect to do within my role, that I have found myself getting to learn and enjoy, is coding. The satisfaction of spending ages working on a bit of code that just doesn’t seem to want to work, for you to then figure it out and everything fall into place is something that I didn’t see myself doing in 2022, but here we are!
Amelia Jones: A common theme in my work is executing advertising campaigns on social media, enabling me to channel my inner creativity through content creation. In my role as Digital Marketing Executive, I support throughout the whole process – from preparing the campaign plans to include all the specifics around duration, budget, copy, creatives etc., to setting up the campaigns and reporting on performance.
Tracy Gardner: This year I have been working alongside several industry initiatives which are focussed on collaboration and working together to solve some of the big challenges the community is experiencing. I have also been working closely with clients to build out their marketing strategies and to ensure they are closely aligned with their organisation’s objectives and journal development plans. A common theme in my work has been helping clients understand what their community wants from them and developing strategies that meet the changing needs of their community.
