Get Full Text Research (GetFTR)
Get Full Text Research (GetFTR) is an industry-wide initiative that partners with publishers, academic discovery services, and scholarly collaboration networks, and signposts researchers to the published research they are entitled to read, whether that content is subscription, freely available or open access.
TBI has been working with GetFTR since 2022 to refine their value proposition, develop an effective marketing strategy, and implement a comprehensive marketing plan. One of our key recommendations was to reposition and redesign the website to strengthen the brand and effectively communicate the value proposition to key audiences. TBI took on the content creation and project management for the website redesign, which was then successfully launched in the spring of 2023 , and has since received positive feedback from librarians.
Following the website launch, TBI then went on to build GetFTR’s social media footprint. The objective was to set up social accounts across the key platforms, grow the audience, and raise awareness of GetFTR among key audiences.
TBI’s approach involved generating weekly content for both LinkedIn and X GetFTR social accounts. The impact of TBI’s promotion activities during the first 5 months resulted in:
- Over 1,500 followers and over 11,900 impressions.
- 185% growth in website page views (from 8,571 pageviews to over 24,400).
- Outreach extended to 122 countries.
- Engaging over 2,900 individual users.
As well as building a social presence, TBI also developed press releases for new partner launches, blogs for product updates, and newsletters to share on the GetFTR website and on social media.
TBI has recently extended its support to GetFTR by designing and creating several infographic resources to promote their new Browser Extension. This includes a poster, infographic, and video all available for download from the GetFTR website. These resources serve not only as tools for promotion but also as valuable assets for the librarian, researcher and publisher community.
“TBI’s blend of strategic planning and implementation has been instrumental in building awareness and visibility for GetFTR as we continue to grow the service and expand the number of use cases we support” says Dianne Benham, GetFTR Product Director.
